Feliz Naughty Dog Book Summary

Short-Summary:

Feliz Naughty Dog

Pru Kilcannon has one goal when she wakes on Christmas Eve – to perform the most “Random Acts of Christmas Kindness” so she can spread cheer and ensure her high school wins the county-wide “RACK IT UP” contest. But when her friends decide to team up with their boyfriends, the ever-helpful Dogmothers enlist the new kid in school as Pru’s partner for the contest. And that means good-girl Pru has to spend the entire day with the broody, moody, and crazy cute bad boy Lucas Darling, and his chaos-causing greyhound, Tor.

As if that wasn’t enough holiday havoc, Pru and Lucas have to accompany the grannies on a secret mission to check out a man Yiayia has met on an online dating service. Gramma Finnie is convinced Aldo Fiore is a mobster, Yiayia thinks he’s her dream man, and Pru just wants to be sure her great-grandmothers don’t get themselves arrested — or worse. There’s no telling what could happen when the Dogmothers spy on an eighty-year-old who might be playing a rather flirtatious Santa at the mall…or might be hiding from the Feds.

But no one expected the real trouble to come from Tor, the former racing dog who causes mayhem and mall madness. As Pru and Lucas attempt to control Tor, supervise the Santa Stalking, and knock out a few random acts of kindness…they also give in to a delicious little Christmas crush that just might lead to some magic under the mistletoe this year!

Christmas would not be the same without the Dogmothers and Pru off on a wild adventure! When Pru is being driven by the Dogmothers to be dropped off for a school event that she organized, she discovers two things - her friends who were supposed to be her partners backed out to be paired up with their boyfriends, and that the Dogmothers are off to the mall on a mystery mission. Pru insists on going with them after getting the event started - which is a competition between three high schools to earn points by performing random acts of Christmas kindness (RACK). What trouble can the two Dogmothers cause?!! Doing what they do best - they play matchmaker for Pru with the new bad boy in town, who they pair off with Pru to earn RACK points, allowing the Dogmothers to go on their mystery mission of investigating the mall Santa who happens to have matched with Yiayia on a dating site. Finnie is convinced he’s part of the mafia. I loved the madcapped adventures of the Dogmothers as well as with Pru, Lucas Darling, and Tor (greyhound rescue dog) that belongs to Lucas. It wouldn’t be Christmas Eve for this family without some adventures! Highly recommend if you want lighthearted reading that makes you chuckle and brings a smile to your face.

I received an ARC of the novella Feliz Naughty Dog by Roxanne St. Claire, the second Christmas novella in the Dogmothers Series, for an honest review, as a member of her review team. I can honestly say that I absolutely loved Feliz Naughty Dog. I can truly say that once again Roxanne St. Claire has delivered an amazing Christmas story. The story is filled with love, friendships, big families, lots of dogs, and Christmas wishes coming true. It was an absolutely wonderful Christmas story. Roxanne St. Claire has once again shown that she is an amazing storyteller. I could not put it down. I loved every page. I really enjoy how the book is told from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting the insight and feelings from the different characters. Feliz Naughty Dog is about searching for someone to love mixed in with a little Christmas magic. It is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. I love the lighter moments where I find myself smiling and laughing out loud and the bittersweet moments that cause me to sigh. Feliz Naughty Dog is filled with such moments, and with so much emotion. It is filled with all those things that we have come to love and expect in a Roxanne St. Claire love story, especially the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this novella. Feliz Naughty Dog, is the story of Agnes “Yiayia” Santorini and her search for her match on Silver Singles, Aldo Fiore, as a mall Santa on Christmas Eve. The Dogmothers also set Pru up with her crush, the new boy in school, Lucas Darling and his dog Tor to participate in the Bitter Bark High School’s Random Acts of Christmas Kindness (RACK). Gramma Finnie tells YiaYia, that her late husband Seamus told her years ago that Aldo was connected to the mob. I loved the interactions at the mall with the unknown men, who confirmed Gramma Finnie and YiaYia’s suspicions. Once revealed, it was the funniest part of the story. I love the moments that YiaYia and Gramma Finnie shared at the mall. I love that Gramma Finnie opened her heart to YiaYia about her concerns. Pru is sixteen, she doesn’t have a boyfriend, or had her first kiss. She is upset when her best friends decide to ditch her and go RACK IT UP with their boyfriends. Then the grannies talk about ditching her and heading to the mall in search of Santa. Lucas Darling and Tor show up at the sign in desk and the grannies set him up with Pru. I love all the events at the mall, but my favorite parts are when Pru and Lucas share the secrets about their families with one another and when Lucas decides to use Gramma Finnie’s post it notes words of wisdom to hand out to children with a mini candy canes in search of a missing pet store basset hound, Buttercup. I love that Feliz Naughty Dog reminds me of the true meaning of Christmas. I loved the story and it brought tears to my eyes on multiple occasions. I love the mutlple storyline, YiaYia searching for her Silver Single Santa and the Pru, Lucas, and Tor budding romance. I love the Pru and Lucas romance, and how Pru’s Christmas wishes come true. I love how Roxanne St. Claire incorporated the title of the book into the story, it was truly priceless. I love celebrating Christmas with the Kilcannons, Mahoneys, and now the Santorinis. Who doesn’t love big families, dogs and Christmas wishes coming true? Roxanne has once again delivered an outstanding story with her surprise plot twist, poignant and bittersweet moments and lots of love. Roxanne even gave us our own Christmas magic, a glimpse into the next target of the Dogmothers matchmaking. Loved all the surprises at the end. I could not put it down. It was a wonderful story filled with the magic of Christmas! I received an ARC for an honest review.

Felix Naughty Dog could be subtitled Mayhem at the Mall as Pru joins the grannies on Christmas Eve to spread a little kindness for Pru’s high school’s project and scope out the mall Santa, whom Agnes met online. Ever the matchmakers the grannies find a partner for Pru, the new boy in town, who just happens to own a out of control rescued greyhound named Tor. While Tor leads the kids into a series of misadventures, the real beauty in the book for this reader is the interchange between the grannies as they explore their really deep friendship ...total opposites that accept, encourage and inspire each other to be more. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book. Most highly recommend.

Feliz Naughty Dog by Roxanne St Claire Book 5.5 in the Dogmothers matchmaker series. Can be read as a stand-alone but best read as part of the series. Another holiday novella with the grannies and Pru. Christmas at the mall for random acts of kindness, a school project for Pru and new student Lucas goes a bit off track when Tor, a rescued greyhound, finds a puppy. While Pru and Lucas are busy, Grannies Finnie and Agnes stalk the mall Santa who seems to be running from the FBI. Its a Christmas Eve for good friends and family. Darling and sweet.
