Everyone knows DAISY JONES & THE SIX, but nobody knows the reason behind their split at the absolute height of their popularity . . . until now.

Daisy is a girl coming of age in L.A. in the late sixties, sneaking into clubs on the Sunset Strip, sleeping with rock stars, and dreaming of singing at the Whisky a Go Go. The sex and drugs are thrilling, but it’s the rock ’n’ roll she loves most. By the time she’s twenty, her voice is getting noticed, and she has the kind of heedless beauty that makes people do crazy things.

Also getting noticed is The Six, a band led by the brooding Billy Dunne. On the eve of their first tour, his girlfriend Camila finds out she’s pregnant, and with the pressure of impending fatherhood and fame, Billy goes a little wild on the road.

Daisy and Billy cross paths when a producer realizes that the key to supercharged success is to put the two together. What happens next will become the stuff of legend.

The making of that legend is chronicled in this riveting and unforgettable novel, written as an oral history of one of the biggest bands of the seventies. Taylor Jenkins Reid is a talented writer who takes her work to a new level with Daisy Jones & The Six, brilliantly capturing a place and time in an utterly distinctive voice.

Story and characters were compelling. I appreciated the story’s unique format, however nothing stood out to me in this book. I liked it but didn’t love it.
  • Lovely read for anyone who loves music.

The story builds - you have to stay with it. Character development was slower than I like. Lacked lush details, with that this book would pop into the brilliant category. Overall a solid read with a few gripping, teary eyed lines. Lyrics at the end were a fantastic touch!
  • A great read

A great read, sad the story ended.

  • Unique and captivating story of band

    By Jackie Malbec
Overhyped but creatively written. Love the interview format and the imagery of this book. You can hear the music and smell the smoke of this rock band. Second half of the book it picked up the pace, and I’m excited it’s being developed into a mini series.

I’m blown away! This was so enthralling I could not put it down. Loved the writing style, characters and different points of view. A definite Almost Famous vibe. It never got boring!! A book I couldn’t wait to finish, but yet did not want it to end!
  • Googled Daisy Jones

    By JeLaButer
I dove into this book knowing full well that the band wasn’t real... and yet somehow midway I was trying to google Daisy and Billy Dunne!! I wanted to see everyone’s faces so bad since I felt like I already had a mental visual of what they could possibly look like. I stopped googling their names and reread the introduction just so I didn’t feel like I was losing my mind. But wow! What a cool way to write a book! And how realistic with how people remember their stories... I can’t wait for the next book set in the 80’s!! I hope she writes it like this one because I was hooked.
  • One of the worst books I’ve read

    By caithayes
The writing was awful. I am sorry if that’s mean. I wanted to like this book because it’s in the Reese Witherspoon book club but it was just bad. The writing, the plot, the characters, it just didn’t do it for me. I’ve read several good books by this author but this just wasn’t good. A lot of people have recommended this book and I just don’t get it. I wouldn’t recommend. I’m sorry just being honest
  • I loved it!

    By elliemad
I typically don’t like books written in non traditional ways but this one really sucked me in! It flowed well and I couldn’t put it down. I love when books pull you into the story, make you feel like you’re living it, and this book did just that. It’s different and a nice change from traditional romance novels. But, it may not be your cup of tea and that’s okay.
