Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Enhanced Edition) Book Summary

"Turning the envelope over, his hand trembling, Harry saw a purple wax seal bearing a coat of arms; a lion, an eagle, a badger and a snake surrounding a large letter 'H'."

Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry's eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. An incredible adventure is about to begin!

  • Could Be Better

    By Narrowgate66
The illustrations are very nice and some are animated but there is no sound. There are only a few annotations and they are short. This is disappointing given the amount of extra material that was written for Pottermore. I think these enhanced eBooks should be more enhanced than they are. This is Harry Potter after all.
  • For all the frills, still missing some basics

    By Cbc26
I was excited to own this version, but when I downloaded the sample, I reconsidered. Left-flushed pages look terrible (give us the option for justified!), and the forced black-text-on-blinding-white-background is ridiculous. The great thing about ebooks is how flexible the text can be, but here, all we’re allowed to do is change the text size. I suppose I’ll hold off for now and wait for at least the color issue to be resolved; all of my other ebooks are in night mode, and I just can’t read this text as it is.
  • Some iBook features disabled...

    By MyDogRocket
This may be a small point, but it should be noted that there are some iBook features disabled in these ebooks. Things like font selection, page color, and page turning options don't exist. In fact, it almost feels like I'm reading these books on a Kindle. Obviously, the books themselves are excellent. And I'm glad to have them in my iBook library. But I don't understand why certain features were disabled.

  • Harry Potter

I’ve read the series and seen the movies. And loved this series. The reason I’m putting two stars is because of the author. J.K is a good author, but not a good person. She is VERY disrespectful to the LGBTQ community, mostly trans people. I used to love this series! I bought magazines and imagined myself going to Hogwarts. Heck, I’ve watched each movie at least three times! But when I heard that JK was saying mean things when I was questioning myself, I immediately got defensive. So I’m reminding you, I love the series, not the author
  • Best book of my six grade year

Harry Potter is a favorite of mine and so many others. This book inspired me to read more. Even looking at it makes me want to reread it and be back in Hogwarts.
  • No original chapter artwork

    By Mrodriguezri
The enhanced version of Harry Potter is a delight, I do wish there were more images but it suffices and brings your imagination to life. I do miss the chapter artwork that the original books have. This version does not include them, just a heads up. For that I took off a star. The chapter artwork is something I always look forward to in Harry Potter.
